The 100 million euro tip to Greek tourism

Foreign visitors leave nearly 100 million euros in tips every year to employees serving in areas of tourism, according to a survey conducted recently by the renowned travel website “Tripadvisor”. Questioning a sample of 25,000 tourists, the survey resulted that more than half of the foreign visitors leave an average of 10 euros each in tip, with the Americans to be the most “generous”, with 60 percent saying they left tips during their vacation. The Germans follow with 49 percent, 33 percent of Brazilians, coming next the Spaniards with 30 percent, 28 percent of Russians and 26 percent of the British. The French (15 percent) and Italians (11 percent) were less willing to share their vacation money.
