Acropolis Museum among the top 20 museums in the world

The Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece, features among the top 20, most amazing museums in the world, according to a list compiled by the editors of the prominent online architectural magazine “Archdaily”. “The Museum is deliberately non-monumental, focusing the visitor’s attention on extraordinary works of art. With the greatest possible clarity, the design translates programmatic requirements into architecture” prized the editors about the Athenian Institution.

“We’ve collected twenty fascinating museums well worth visiting again,” they say in reference to the list that was published on the occasion of the International Museum Day, on May 18th.

Alongside the Bernard Tschumi Architects’ New Acropolis Museum, the list also includes the notorious Zaha Hadid Architects’ MAXXI Museum in Rome, the Waterford City Council Architects’ Medieval Museum in Ireland, the Ennead Architects’ Natural History Museum of Utah and the Muritzeum Museum in Germany.
