Aegean Airlines sets to cover flights to and from Cyprus and link the island with additional cities in Greece and the Western Europe, following the shutdown of Cyprus Airlines.
As announced Aegean Vice Chairman Eftychios Vassilakis during in a press conference in Nicosia, the company is also to acquire four new Airbus A320 aircraft as of March 30, bringing total annual capacity in scheduled serving connections with Greece and another seven countries, to over 1.5 million seats. The number of direct flights to and from Cyprus served by the carrier will increase to fourteen, he added, including destinations both in Greece and Western Europe (London/Heathrow, Paris, Munich, Rome and Milan). Aegean’s summer schedule will begin in April 2015, marked by increased regular flights from Nicosia to Athens and the introduction of a direct flight between Athens and Paphos.
