'Athens Riviera' construction goes ahead

A step closer to the recast of the so-call Athens Riviera was made on Tuesday, when 20 properties where conceded to the state company Attica Coastline SA. This property transfer clears the path for an international tender in October, so that the contractor will be having working access at the locations between Piraeus and Anavyssos, Southern Attica, by May 2015. The 20 properties cover a total of 3.46 square kilometres and included are installations built during the 2004 Olympic games, such as the Faliro Sports Hall and the Olympic Beach Volleyball Centre.
