Public Power Corporation (PPC) set to lend its support to the circulation of electric cars in Greece by opening charging stations across the country, reports Kathimerini, as it is highly expected a steady increase in the number of such vehicles on Greek roads in the near future. More than 60 cars powered exclusively on electricity have been sold in Greece according to data heard on a conference organized by PPC on Wednesday, and the company is planning to lease 15 electric vehicles within the context of a pilot scheme with the opening of 15 charging stations, 8 in Kozani and 7 in Athens.
A new market is rising bearing the standards of a sustainable industry, claimed Energy Minister Yiannis Maniatis who referred to a study by the European Commission that estimates that 700,000 jobs will be created in this sector during the coming decade across the European Union, 7,000 of which to be in Greece.
