The misdemeanour charges that fell upon three detained for the fun park at Elliniko incident have been upgraded to felonies today, since new evidence emerged as the investigation is ongoing.
The two Bangladeshi fairground employees and the Italian man who rented equipment are facing manslaughter through neglect and grievous bodily harm charges. The fate of the fourth accused, the Greek fun park manager who handed himself in to police on Monday, is unclear.
A 13-year old boy was killed and his 9-year old sister seriously injured when the helium-filled cylinder they were in, known as water roller, on a pool in the fun park, burst and a strong gust of wind blew both about 30 meters away.
The venue did not have a license as local authorities said on Monday.
