The economic reform proposals to be presented by Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis to the Eurogroup next week were discussed at a Government Economic Policy Council meeting held at the Finance ministry on Monday, chaired by government Vice-President Yiannis Dragasakis. The Finance minister heads for the Eurogroup next Monday with specific and costed reform proposals that “promote efficiency and social justice in the sector of the economy”, said Dragasakis. Asked whether the proposals will concern draft legislation currently being prepared, Dragasakis said that “the government has its own programme of reforms. It is a broad field that contains both our own programme and the agreement with the institutions. The agreement is a subset of the government's programme". He also denied rumours that technical teams from the institutions (European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund) will be arriving in Athens on Wednesday, saying that he had not been informed of any such visit.
