Interactive poll for the return of the Acropolis sculptures

On November 19 at Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos” launches an interactive opinion poll, through which travellers-visitors will be voting whether the marbles of Parthenon should be returned to Greece or not. The interactive displays for the voting have already been installed in the arrival and departure areas of the airport. When opening the application, which is available in different languages, passengers will be able in just a few finger moves, to put together the Parthenon’s western riser and resettle the sixth Caryatid, and as such express their approval in the repatriation of the marbles. “This initiative is part of a wider attempt to mobilize citizens and promote the country’s capital, by providing an innovative stand to it’s visitors”, said the Airport’s General Manager Yiannis Paraschis. “Taking into account the spectacular rise in arrivals of foreign visitors by +28% between January and September 2014, Athens’ dynamic comeback as the main city-break tourist destination is indisputable”, he added.
