The Supreme Court prosecutor will be leading a preliminary inquiry in regards to Christine Lagarde’s claims on threats against her life after she had spoken of tax evasion in Greece, as she had recently revealed in an interview with the Financial Times. The investigation also concerns references to similar comments made by opposition leader Alexis Tsipras, who himself claimed of being threatened.
Minister of Justice Charalambos Athanasiou had further contacted Lagarde in writing, requesting that she provides any information on the case, in order to assist Greek judicial authorities.
