New healthcare programme for uninsured citizens

Within the context of social welfare, the Ministries of Labor and Finances are planning a free healthcare programme, to be valid until February 2015, for the underprivileged, uninsured citizens and the protected members of their families. According to the newspaper “Ta Nea” which first revealed the government’s welfare project, free healthcare service will apply to certain criteria and those to benefit are self-employed who have officially stopped working, insured farmers and elderly who do not receive pension. Also mechanics with overall family income up to 12,000 euros in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
