New traffic regulations during construction of the Metro station in Piraeus have been announced by the managing company “Attiko Metro”. According to the announcement, traffic lanes in front of the construction site will gradually be reduced to two in each direction, while access to the footbridge connecting ISAP station to the port will be temporarily closed. However, bus routes will not be affected.
The project, which constitutes part of the Line 3 southbound extension, is to be completed in two years. The metro station, the biggest part of which will be below sea level, will be adjacent to the existing Piraeus-Kifissia ISAP electrical railway terminus.
