Rescued immigrants led back to Turkey in new Aegean incident

While Coast guard search for survivors off the island of Samos continues, another group of immigrants tried to reach Greece this morning. 22 men have been rescued and two women found stranded in Turkish waters. The Greek officers alerted their Turkish counterparts who took the survivors back to Turkey.

At least 22 people died in Monday’s tragic incident. Rescue parties have recovered the bodies of 12 women, four children and six men. 36 people have been rescued, while 10 remain missing.
