Running for good cause.

Kalamata and Costa Navarino, in the region of Messinia in Peloponnese, will host the “Navarino Challenge” Marathon on 19-21 September, a race that will give the opportunity to participants, of all ages, to learn about and support the event’s cause, since the Marathon aims in raising awareness on the issue of childhood obesity and the benefits of the Mediterranean diet.

As an ambassador of “Navarino Challenge” and a dedicated “fair play” supporter, Dean Karnazes, the Greek-American world’s most famous ultramarathon runner, will be the one to inform parents and local school students about childhood obesity and how it can be fought through healthy living, good nutrition and exercise. Dean will run alongside Olympic medalists, Greek champions and “common” runner enthusiasts, who can find more info about the routes of the race, registration and staying accommodations atwww.navarinochallenge.com
