Spanish WWF warns Greece about building activities along coastlines

The environmental group WWF in Spain made an appeal to Greek Tourism and Finance ministers to avoid Spain’s example of flexible restrictions on building activities along the country’s coastline as this would have serious economic and environmental consequences. In the wake of the Greek government’s intentions to lift restrictions on coastline constructions, Juan Carlos del Olmo, head of the WWF group in Spain, addressed a letter to the Greek ministers pointing out that that 75 percent of the Spanish coastline is built on or slated for construction, a development that damaged the country’s tourism prospects.
