The increased demand by their customers who wish to visit the Greek island of Rhodes for a nude beach like those that exist in many other Mediterranean resorts, cited tour operators to Greek tourism decision-makers during the World Travel Market, held in London earlier this month. According to the local news portal, Rodos@larm, tour operators proposed the establishment of an official nude beach that would include basic facilities such as running water, cabins and chemical toilets and would be fenced off with ticket-only access. The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) appears positive towards the proposal, expressing however its concerns about local authorities and groups that would most likely disagree.
