Where to find the one and only Mini Cooper canteen in Athens.

The brand new Junky the Foodtruck in Kolokotroni Street serves street-style food through a red Mini Cooper

Junky the Foodtruck, the new canteen in the city, has parked in Kolokotroni Street and serves the ultimate, traditional street style food, known in Greek as “vrómiko”. The huge fluffy buns are not the only reason that attracts all eyes… Instead of the small truck that comes to mind when we hear the words “canteen” and “street style food”, you now have a… Mini Cooper!

Junky the Foodtruck

Daily, from 14.00 onwards, the tiny, bright red Mini Cooper of Junky the Foodtruck serves exuberant street-style delicacies that are anything but ordinary. Surely, you will find the classic versions with pork skewer or chicken nuggets, but you can also enjoy sandwiches filled with pancetta, cheese, cabbage-carrot, Jack Daniels sauce and potatoes, as well as beef tagliata (!), caramelized onion, pepper, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, Philadelphia and aromatic garlic oil, and last but not least street style… spetzofai! This is a traditional Greek dish made with spicy country sausages, onion, tomato, green and red pepper, potatoes and feta mousse, and is especially dedicated to food enthusiasts.

In addition to the above, you will also find lucullian hot dogs (it’s worth trying the Mexican style with chorizo, nachos, guacamole and cheddar sauce), chicken nuggets and pork skewers served in portions and, by all means, French fries. At this point, we should mention that there is also a sweet treat called Choco Dog that is made with chocolate praline and biscuit and is worth “sinning for”.

All sandwiches are spruced-up, generous and made with handmade steam buns that feel extremely comforting as soon as you hold them in your hands. So, the next time you stay up all night in Kolokotroni Street, don’t forget to look for the bright red Mini Cooper!

P.S. You can enjoy all the above daily, from 2 p.m. until late at night, as a takeaway or by delivery via efood, Wolt and Box.
