Opened 13 years ago, The Black Sheep quickly gained a devoted following from all corners of Athens, who make their way here to enjoy its delicious offerings. No matter what time of day you pass by, you’ll find it buzzing with life—lively yet laid-back, full of youthful groups, couples, tourists, neighbors, both famous and anonymous faces, artists, journalists, and even politicians. Everyone is drawn by the charming ambiance, consistently polite service, fair prices, and above all, the food. That kitchen… it's been delighting us for years with unforgettable flavors!
Evdoxia Pantou and Nikos Krassas, the dynamic duo behind The Black Sheep, are steadfast believers in fresh, authentic Greek cuisine—the kind we all love. They stay true to tradition while adding subtle or bold contemporary twists, always using the finest ingredients the market has to offer. The Black Sheep spoils its guests, regularly introducing new irresistible dishes that become instant hits.

Some dishes are perennial best sellers, bringing guests back time and again, but The Black Sheep is always innovating, keeping things exciting and never boring. For the new season, they’ve refreshed their menu.
Alongside its beloved salads, the incredibly popular hunkar begendi, hearty pork skillet, perfectly cooked orzo with vegetables or chicken, unbeatable lamb with gamopilafo and “tsikalates” potatoes, seafood linguine, mouthwatering Tomahawk pork chops, and many more favorites, come a host of new temptations. These include a uniquely original chickpea salad with pickled mushrooms, parsnip, carrot, apple, peppers, apricot vinaigrette, and xinomizithra cheese; a delightful corn velouté soup with crispy guanciale bits, graviera croutons, and chili oil; and lamb meatballs with colorful peppers and Greek cheese mousse.
It continues with slow-cooked lamb shank—so tender it melts in your mouth—served with luscious hilopites in a rich sauce, the ultimate comfort dish. Or the equally flavorful pork shank, braised in beer, thyme, and honey, served with mushroom orzo and graviera cream. And there's more to come as winter rolls on…
To accompany your meal, there’s a great selection of bottled wines at excellent prices, as well as carefully chosen house wine, craft spirits, and beers. Desserts are another area where The Black Sheep shines—our personal favorite is the apple and walnut mille-feuille. Try it once and you'll be craving it forever.
This is our beloved Black Sheep of Press Café—and that’s exactly why we can’t stay away.
See you there!
