In the cellar basement, flavors meet unique wine labels
In the heart of the city, amidst the bustling sounds of Ermou Street and the fluid energy of modern Athens, a new restaurant emerges that feels like it’s arrived from the future of Greek gastronomy—without forgetting its past. Liystor, located at the corner of Ermou 92-94 and Pittaki 1, offers an experience that refreshes the urban culinary and hospitality map.
The restaurant is housed in the former home of Kyriakos Pittakis, the renowned Greek archaeologist. Pittakis devoted his life to bringing ancient history to light—and today, with the same passion, the Liystor team writes a new chapter: one of creative cuisine, refined flavors, and deep respect for quality ingredients.
Behind Liystor’s culinary vision is chef Nikos Apostolakis, a creator who invests in the art of fish aging, blending it with inventive concepts and daring combinations. His dishes—like fish sausage, tuna bacon, and imaginative crudo selections—showcase the essence of the sea with a fresh perspective and unparalleled aesthetic.

The menu evolves throughout the day. It begins with a brunch full of handmade creations, from the Sausage Sando and Sourdough Toast to the much-talked-about Pancake Dubai. It continues with lunch and dinner options that strike a balance between maritime finesse and earthy pleasures: from Fish & Chips and Carpaccio Tonato to Lamb Chops and carefully crafted vegetarian dishes.
Liystor features a tranquil courtyard oasis on Pittaki Street. Upstairs, the impressive rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of the Acropolis and the Temple of Hephaestus, transforming every dinner into a sensory experience set against Athens’ most iconic backdrop. Hidden below, the wine cellar is another culinary treasure, hosting tasting events and food & wine pairings with labels from Greek and international vineyards. And as night falls, the spotlight shifts to the bar’s signature cocktails, capping off an evening full of character and flair.
Liystor is a space that respects time, ingredients, and people—honoring the purity of flavor and the true spirit of hospitality.
