A fully curated new-generation grocery store that was missing from the city

A truly exciting new addition to Athens’ gastronomic scene, STOA AGORA introduces itself as a modern grocery store, with its shelves showcasing more than 4,000 carefully selected products, many of them PDO and PGI-certified, sourced from 370 small and medium-sized producers from every corner of Greece.

Cheeses, cured meats, salted and preserved delicacies, handmade pasta and trachanas (traditional cracked wheat pasta), traditional sweets such as halva and amygdalota (Greek almond sweets), dairy products, rusks, honey, herbs, as well as spirits, craft beers and rare wines are just some of the carefully selected products available in the store.

Chosen according to strict criteria of taste, quality and geographical origin, they elevate both the everyday table and special occasions, offering authentic flavors with a strong sense of place and a story to tell. What’s more, with dedicated dining areas, visitors can also taste the products through specially prepared dishes.

In the store’s workshop, the team of bakers prepares fresh pies every day using handmade sourdough pastry. The selection ranges from permanent favorites featuring Amfilochia pecorino, Zireia feta and Mouzaki sausage, to daily specials that showcase new arrivals, such as a pork trilogy combining Corfu salado, Mani syglino and Lamia porchetta.

Meanwhile, the yogurt bar offers a variety of yogurts served with honey, nuts and traditional spoon sweets, all sourced from the store’s own shelves. Sandwiches made with freshly baked bread and breakfast options are also coming soon.

At its heart, the STOA AGORA project is about supporting Greek producers while also “educating” the public and bringing consumers closer to the people and stories behind the products. As part of this initiative, producers will regularly visit the store to introduce their products, while tastings, seminars, cooking classes and other engaging events will also take place.
