Former US ambassador presents his book


The former American diplomat, John Brady Kiesling, also a historian and lecturer, will present his book “Greek Urban Warriors: Resistance & Terrorism 1967-2014” (Lycabettus Press) this Wednesday, December 3, at Ianos Bookstore, downtown Athens. The book comprises of the results of a research Kiesling pursued for nearly a decade on the domestic terrorists group “November 17”. Kiesling had served at the US Embassy in Athens for two stints. In his capacity as a diplomat, he was in Greece at or around the time of the assassinations by November 17 of US Navy Captain William Nordeen in June 1988 and British Embassy military attaché Stephen Saunders in June 2000.
Former Greek Ambassador in Washington Alexandros Mallias will talk about Kiesling’s work, while the author will be available to answer questions from the public.
