The Ilias Lalaounis Jewellery Museum (ILJM) is the one of the only museums in Greece devoted to studying and exhibiting the art of jewelry and one of the very few of its kind in the world. Founded by and named after the Athens-born and bred, internationally renowned artist and jeweller, the museum is a private, non-profit cultural organization that acts as an international center for jewellery and decorative crafts, with an emphasis on silver and goldsmithing as well as contemporary studio jewellery. Located under the sacred hill of the Acropolis at the footsteps of the Parthenon, the ILJM permanent collection contains 4,000 pieces of historic and contemporary jewellery.
