Kimolos

Kimolos is a small Aegean paradise where you won't find till this day any mass tourism damages on the island. Beautiful beaches are the highlight of this island, traditional settlements, peaceful alleys and hospitable and kind locals make up the island's “character”. You first visit Chorio, the capital of Kimolos with a medieval castle (Mesa Kastro and Exo Kastro settlements). There are over 80 churches on the island but the one standing out is the church Gennisis tou Christou which is the oldest. If you are there on August 15th you won't ever forget the panigyri of Panagias Oikonomou. Visit the Archaeological Museum for exhibits from the geometrical and archaistic era, while at the Folk - Naval Museum you will find every day use objects and artwork from the founder's Manolis Christoulakis private collection.
