Where to swim

At Hydroneta, your towel on the rocks, the canons hanging above your head and you in the water. Go to Omilos (formerly known as Lagoudera) for coffee or food and dives of the Spilia. Go to Mikro and Megalo Kamini where you can combine the salt from the sea with the meze from Christina's and Kontylenia 's small taverns. If you are looking for more comfort go to Mantraki, Mpisti or Plakes Vlychou (where you can also find nice fish and home cooking at Marina's) and Agios Nikolaos. Limnioniza is relatively secluded with beautiful waters.

 

Where to stay

At the beautiful Hydroussa (+30 52400, +30 53581) and the high level services Leto (+30 53385). At the large Mira Mare Hotel (+30 52300) and the Mistral Hotel (+30 53411). Bratsera (+30 53970-1), Orlof (+30 52564) and Faedra (+30 53330) make up for interesting choices. For simpler holidays go to Pityoussa (+30 52810), Filenia (+30 52537), Botsis (+30 52395), Alkyonides (+30 54055), Sophia (+30 52313) all of them around the Harbour.

Where to eat and drink

Xeri Elia is amongst pine trees serving excellent food. At Vigla you will enjoy fresh fish and, the island at your feet. Go to the Paradosiako in the town alleys for home cooking and meze, to the Geitoniko for fish, to the Psaropoula for fish and home cooking. You can buy nice traditional desserts or eat them there at Mrs. Flora's. Go to the Ciao Cafe in the alley for coffee and to the Issalos for ethnic ambiance and music. For socialite evenings go to Peiratis, the island's classic bar, visited every so often by rock stars such as Eric Clapton and the Amalour for good music.
