Last year’s incident at a strawberry farm in Nea Manolada at the Peloponnese is brought to justice as of this Friday when the owner of the farm and three foremen stand trial, facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm and labour trafficking. On April 17 of 2013, the foremen of the farm opened fire against 120 migrant workers who were demanding their six months’ worth unpaid wages. 35 of them were injured and hospitalised.
It is the first time that Greece holds a trial for mass trafficking of workers.
