Four MPs of the Democratic Left have requested the Ministers of Finances and Justice to carry out an investigation over the allegations of IMF chief Christine Lagarde regarding threats against her life by Greek tax evaders.
The four MPs, Nikos Tsoukalis, Dimitris Anagnostakis, Asimina Xirotiri and Niki Founta, made the request in Parliament in response to Mrs. Lagarde’s comments at the Financial Times when she was asked about tax evasion and the investigation of the “Lagarde List” by Greek tax authorities. Mrs. Lagarde said that “I better not say too much because, you know, when I have talked about Greece and its taxes before, I got death threats and we had to increase security”.
