Greece has reached fourth place on the list of the most affordable destinations in Europe, in terms of hotel prices, for the month of May, according to a recent survey conducted by the holiday booking website “Trivago”.
As resulted, out of 24 countries, only Bulgaria (54 euros), Romania (66 euros) and Poland (69 euros) had lower hotel rates to Greece (89 euros), while the highest are found in Denmark and Norway (168 euros and 156 euros respectively).
Despite the fact that the average online hotel price per night for a double room in Greek hotels had shown an increase of 14.1%, Greece holds its place among the most affordable European destinations.
In reference to hotel rates in European cities for the month of May, the average hotel price in Athens was increased by 26%, to 106 euros. However, Athens retains nearly 30% lower than average hotel prices, according to the survey, thus being the 16th most affordable city in regard to hotel stays among 50 city destinations. The cheapest city is Saragossa (62 euros per night) and Geneva features as the most expensive (284 euros per night).
