Juncker: Early elections in Greece would be a risky business

Jean-Claude Juncker, the EU’s Christian Democratic parties nominee for the presidency of the European Commission, stresses the "highly dangerous" prospect of a breakdown of Greece's conservative-led coalition government. Greece, which is holding double elections on Sunday (local and Euro Parliament), needs to avoid early national elections, said Juncker during an interview in Brussels. The ballots seem to test Greece's power-sharing administration. “What Greece doesn’t need would be a government crisis or a collapse of the government”, he said. “That would be highly dangerous”.
