Two Greek resorts feature among the winners of the 1st Annual World Golf Awards, a new institution that celebrates and rewards excellence in golf tourism, world class courses and golf destinations. Under the “Greece” category, Costa Navarino was awarded with the “Greece’s Best Golf Course 2014” award, for The Dunes Course, and the Porto Carras Grand Resort was voted “Greece’s Best Golf Hotel 2014”. The grand title of the “World’s Best Golf Destination” was given to Portugal.
The inaugural event, which was held at Conrad Algarve, Portugal, was focusing on the leading 130 countries that are forging the future of this dynamic industry. By rewarding excellence across golf resorts, courses and the golfing destinations throughout the world, World Golf Awards global initiative is to promote and stimulate both the domestic and international golf tourism market, raising eventually the golf tourist customer experience.
