Three weeks after elections government enjoys high citizen support

By a high percentage of 81.5%, citizens support the government’s talks with the EU, as showed a nationwide opinion poll conducted by Marc for “Efimerida ton Syntakton” newspaper. Responding to whether the government negotiates in a right or wrong way, eight out of ten citizens (81.5%) said yes. A 14% said they disagree, while a 4.3% gave no answer. On the outcome of the negotiations, 79.9% appear optimistic while 13.4% fear of a rift. 81% said Greece should stay in the Eurozone and 13.4% would prefer a return to drachma. As for a first estimate of the new Greek government, 83.6% of the sample responded positively while 13.2% were negative.
