The Acropolis in Athens was placed among the 30 most desired travel sights for the Brits, according to a poll conducted on behalf of British Airways within the context of the carrier’s “Inspire Us” Travel Photography challenge. As GTP reports, number one on the list of sights travellers must definitely see is the Eiffel Tower, which topped the poll as desired by 2,000 British adults. Second comes the absolutely breathtaking Grand Canyon in North America, followed by three UK landmarks, Big Ben, Stonehenge and the Houses of Parliament.
The top1o on the list are:

2. The Grand Canyon – USA
3. Big Ben – England
4. Stonehenge – England
5. Houses of Parliament – England
6. Statue of Liberty- USA
7. The Pyramids of Giza – Egypt
8. Great Wall of China – China
9. Tower of Pisa – Italy
10. Niagara Falls – USA/Canada
The poll also suggested that the average adult has already visited 10 of the landmarks on the list of 30. However, 70 percent say there is still so much to see of the world.
The Athenian Acropolis features on the 24th place, above The Louvre – France, Machu Picchu – Peru, Christ the Redeemer – Brazil, The Hollywood Sign – USA, The White House – USA and Mount Rushmore – USA.
