The significant role of the pharmaceutical industry for Greek economy

The dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry, as largely obtaining investment and innovation initiatives, and its significant role on the growth of Greek economy, and eventually the country’s exit from a prolonged recession, have been the key topics on a conference organized by the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), under the Greek Presidency and the e-Health Forum. The purpose of the event was to present the study conducted by the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOBE): "Strategy Development for the Pharmaceutical sector". The study stretched the pharmaceutical industry’s essential contribution to the country’s extroversion, as Greek firms operating in the field are ensuring significant presence abroad, and to the labour market, since it employs almost 132,000 people.
