Athens honours Ferenc Puskas

A Memorial Plate to honour one of the most significant personalities in the history of Panathinaikos Football Club, Ferenc Puskas, is to be unveiled in a special ceremony at Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium on Alexandras’ Avenue on June 2, held within the context of the 43rd anniversary of the Wembley Final celebrations. The ceremony, organized by the government of Hungary (represented by the Embassy of Hungary in Athens) in cooperation with the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy and Panathinaikos A.O., will be attended by István Simicskó, Hungarian Minister of State for Sport and Youth, members of the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy and journalists from Hungary. Ferenc Puskás’ wife, Elisabeth Puskás, will also be present. The event will be followed by a football game between U-17 team of Panathinaikos and the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy from Hungary.

The ceremony and the football game will be open to the public.
