The “ghost” building of the Acropole Palace Hotel situated on the corner of Patission and Averof streets is central Athens, is destined to a new face by the end of 2015. The historic building that belongs to the Culture ministry since 1997, is currently under restoration, funded by the National Strategic Reference Frameworks, and is expected to open its doors late next year as a Cultural Centre.
As the general secretary of the Greek Culture Ministry, Lina Mendoni, announced during a meeting of the Central Council for Modern Monuments, “a priceless Athenian treasure will be developed”, which is expected to improve the National Archaeological Museum area in downtown Athens.
