Public performance by the Greek National Opera

Within the context of a program of “outdoor” performances in unexpected city spots, the Greek National Opera tunes up for a big open-air surprise concert on Tuesday July 8 at 20:30, under the shade of Acropolis, at the archaeological site of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. GNO’s renowned soloists and choir will sing arias, duets and choruses from popular operas in Greek. Some of the most memorable parts from opera masterpieces, such as Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville,” Verdi’s “Traviata,” “Macbeth,” “Nabucco” and “Othello” and Bizet ‘s “Carmen” and “Pearl Fishers”, to be among the repertoire. Admission is free. Tickets will be distributed at the entrance of the venue two hours prior to the concert on a first-come, first-served basis.
